The Committee
CAFA became a registered charity in February 2016 and the committee is currently made up of a few parents and staff. We usually meet on the third Tuesday of the month at 6.30pm during term time. If you’ve any suggestions about fundraising activities or are interested in finding out more, please email us at cafa@castellalun.flintshire.sch.uk or contact us through our social media accounts.
How the Fundraising is Helping the School
Thanks to your support, CAFA’s been able to help the school out in various ways including a £5000 contribution towards a new minibus and new ICT equipment for the modern foreign languages area.
In the past 12 months we’ve funded resources for the languages department, Performing Arts, the English department, the nurture department and the music department. We also purchased a picnic bench for the quad to commemorate the jubilee, and have made contributions towards trips and towards the replacement of sports equipment.
There remains a long list of resources the school and students could benefit from so please do continue to support our fundraising efforts if you can. Thank you.

Match Funding
Do you work for a company that offers a match funding scheme? If so, you might be able to help us raise more funding for Castell Alun – please get in touch with us.
AmazonSmile
When you shop with Amazon Smile, Amazon will make a donation to our fundraising. You can follow this link for more details about how to sign up.
Cash4Coins
We are fundraising by collecting old British or foreign coins and notes, including obsolete currency. We then send it to www.cash4coins.co.uk who exchanges it into cash we can use. Please save up your coins and notes and we will update you once you can start bringing them back into school.
CAFA Lottery
Many thanks to everyone supporting the lottery. Draws are weekly and as well as being in the draw to win the local prize, supporters are included in a weekly national draw to win £25,000. Anyone can join and all support is gratefully received – please visit this link to find out more information and sign up.
EasyFundraising
Shop with over 3,100 retailers and easyfundraising will give a donation to the school every time you make a purchase. Retailers include eBay, Amazon, John Lewis, B&Q, booking.com and loads more. It won’t cost you anything. Signing up to support Castell Alun Friends’ Association is really easy – just follow this link, fill in your email address, set a password and your account is set up. No other information is needed. You can then go via easyfundraising to do your shopping and we’ll get a donation every time.
There is no catch or hidden cost; it’s just a really easy way to raise extra money for the school.
Making a Donation
If you’d like to make an online contribution towards our fundraising, please visit our Facebook page and use the donate button. If you prefer to make a donation by cheque, please make it payable to “Castell Alun Friends’ Association” and mark the envelope for CAFA’s attention.
