Castell Alun Friends’ Association
CAFA became a registered charity in February 2016 and the committee is currently made up of a few parents and staff. If you’d like to join the committee you’d be very welcome. We usually meet on the third Tuesday of the month during term time (the next meeting is taking place on the 19th March) at 6.30pm and we make sure meetings end within an hour. Even if you can’t join us at the meetings, let us know if you’ve any suggestions about events and activities that people will enjoy.
If you’re interested in finding out more, come along to a meeting or email us at email@example.com for more information.
Thanks to everyone who supported our textile recycling day and who went on the coach trip to Manchester Christmas markets!
How the Fundraising is Helping the School
As you may know, the school urgently needed a new minibus so CAFA made a £5000 contribution to help them buy it before Christmas.
There remains a long list of resources the school and students could benefit from so please do continue to support our fundraising efforts. Please continue to save your ink cartridges as we’re trying to find ways to incorporate recycling into our fundraising activity – more details to follow.
Events and Fundraising Activities
Festive Fair and Pamper Evening
Thanks to everyone who came along to support the night – as we also received a donation from Barclays, the event raised just under £1600 in total.
We are fundraising by collecting old British or foreign coins and notes, including obsolete currency. We then send it to www.cash4coins.co.uk who exchange it into cash we can use. The bucket is in school all year.
Due to the lack of members signing up, we have decided to stop running the lottery.
Shop with over 3,100 retailers and easyfundraising will give a donation to the school every time you make a purchase. Retailers include eBay, Amazon, John Lewis, B&Q, booking.com and loads more. It won’t cost you anything.
Signing up to support Castell Alun Friends’ Association is really easy – just follow this link, fill in your email address, set a password and your account is set up. No other information is needed. You can then go via easyfundraising to do your shopping and we’ll get a donation every time.
There is no catch or hidden cost; it’s just a really easy way to raise extra money for the school.
If you’d like to make a contribution towards our fundraising, please click on this link and it will take you to our My Donate page. MyDonate will be closing in June so we will hopefully be sorting out an alternative.
If you prefer to make a donation by cheque, please make it payable to “Castell Alun Friends’ Association” and mark the envelope for CAFA’s attention. If you’re making the donation as an individual rather than as a company, and would like to Gift Aid your donation, you’ll find the form here.
