On the 21st of October, 116 children died,

when the seventh heap began to slide,

The teachers trying to save those in school,

all destined to meet a fate so cruel.

3 weeks went by with miserable rain,

a school was crushed and children died in vain,

144 died on that day,

Under the rocks the souls swept away.

News and rumours spread fast,

Of the horrific accident at Pantglas

No one can say who was to blame,

Some say the coal board, some say the rain.

A tsunami of the slurry fell upon the school,

Engulfing the town into a rocky pool

Covering the town in a wave of black,

Layed the lives of those to never come back.

News and rumours spread fast,

Of the horrific accident at pantglas

No one can say who was to blame,

Some say the coal board, some say the rain.

For months after kids couldn’t play outside.

Instead being forced to stay in and hide.

Laying in their graves poor children are missing,

Unknowing of the peoples mournful reminiscing.

People say there’s no one to blame,

but how come the coalboards were so full of shame?

They were the ones who ignored every warning,

which plunged families into deep mourning.

News and rumours spread fast,

Of the horrific accident at Pantglas

No one can say who was to blame,

Some say the coal board, some say the rain.
