Year 12 and 13 Health and Social Care students from Castell Alun High school received an informative talk from Mrs Nesta McCluskey Associate Clinical Lead Operations Physiotherapy from Betsi Cadwallader NHS Trust.
As part of their coursework, the sixth form students were able to learn about the pressures the NHS faces with the increasing number of older adults across Flintshire and the multi-agency health care packages available across the county which seek to enable older adults to remain independent in their own homes.
Shan Williams, Health and Social Care Teacher, commented on the value of the talk, “the students not only received a valuable presentation but were able to chat informally with Mrs McClusky about the provision of integrated care and the impact this has on clients across Flintshire today. We all found this really inspiring.”
The talk has been of immense use to the students who can apply this information to their ‘provision of services’ coursework.
