Friday 12th January, 2018

I wish you all a very happy new year. As we would anticipate, everyone has settled back into school life quickly and effectively and it’s now full steam ahead in this fairly short Spring Term!

Our Sixth Form students are currently undertaking internal examinations and students in Years 10 and 11 have begun a programme of external qualifications in some core subjects also. Congratulations to all students who have already achieved success in their English and Maths GCSE examinations, the results of which were published on Thursday of this week.

Over the course of the next few weeks we will discuss with our Year 11 students their plans for next academic year, and we will hold our Sixth Form Open Evening on Thursday 1st February, starting at 6.30pm. If you or your child would like any further information on the courses we offer in the school Sixth Form or simply require further information on Sixth Form life, please come along to the event and also take a look at the Sixth Form prospectus available here.

We are very proud of our post 16 provision, both with regard to the care, support and guidance that we provide for every single student, as clearlyrecognised by Estyn, and also the results that students achieve, based upon their personal ability.

Our Parents’ Evening for current Year 12 students will take place on Thursday 25th January, beginning at 4pm, and students will be able to make appointments with their teachers from the beginning of next week.

We will hold our first main assembly of the new year on Monday and we eagerly look forward to more first rate musical performances and high quality contributions from all of our students.

Have a nice weekend.
