Well it has been a tremendous term and now the whole school family is really excited about the Christmas Holidays.

Christmas was, of course, the theme for our main school assembly today.  The Senior Team led the assembly and the Sports Report, brought by Miss Becky Roberts, just served to demonstrate to us all once again what an incredible wealth of talent we have at Castell Alun.  We were treated to the Beatles’ song ‘All my loving’, played wonderfully by the Staff Band, some of whom clearly could have pursued an alternate career on stage!  Thanks to everyone involved – what a lovely way to round of a brilliant term.

On Wednesday this week Year 7 walked over to the Parish Church for their Christmas service.  Rev. Adam Pawley led our time together beautifully and we didn’t lose any of our tremendous bell ringers up the tower, indeed Tegan Schofield, Jane Parry, Chris Venables, Mair Jackson, Matthew Coles, Mia Ellis all held on to the ropes very tightly!  Macken Tiley-Phillips and Megan Hall did a great job of reading to the whole church and Megan also participated in the choir.  The choir sang a beautiful rendition of ‘Somewhere Only we Know’.  Thanks to everyone who made this lovely occasion possible, both from the school and our friends at the church.

Our Key Stage Four and Five dancers put on a brilliant performance last night in Leeswood and all who attended were bowled-over by the ability and confidence of each of our dancers.

The school re-opens to students on Tuesday 9th January.  It only remains for me to thank you for your tremendous support and good wishes this term and to wish you all a really happy Christmas.
