Driving to Success

Matthew from Year 10 has taken another massive step towards becoming a professional golfer. He recently competed in the North Wales Boys’ U18’s 72 Hole Golf Competition last weekend, winning the net score event and coming third in the gross score event.

The competition was held over 2 days at Rhuddlan and Abergele Golf Clubs. Matthew played brilliantly, holding his nerve many times to shoot very impressive rounds of 70, 79, 76, 68 gross.

Playing off a handicap of 1, Matthew has been in the Wales Golf Performance Squad since the age of 9 and is a Wales U16 Golf international player.

Matthew, a humble young man, commented, “I felt I gave a good account of myself and hit some nice shots out there. It was great to be able to save my best round for last.”

Matthew practises five times a week and has a number of further tournaments lined.
