The entire population of Castell Alun High School adorned themselves in green, white and red for charity.
All students paid to have the privilege of wearing anything in the colours of the Welsh Dragon in order to mark St. David’s Day in a way that would benefit others.red clothing on Friday in order to support the vital work of the Marie Curie Charity.
The children really enjoyed the experience and many were very creative with their outfits.
The event marked the close of a week which celebrated Castell Alun’s cultural heritage in a variety of ways, including the performance of a Welsh rapper and various in-house competitions.
A Year 7 student experienced the annual event at Castell Alun for the first time and said, “It’s great to be able to help others and have a lot of fun ourselves too. This is a really caring school.”
Assistant Headteacher, Paul Edwards, added, “Our students are proud of the school’s welsh culture and we try to take every opportunity possible to support the vital work of charities such as Marie Curie.”
