School Blog (12/09/25)

A very warm welcome to our first blog of the new school year! We are so excited to greet our new Year 7 students and any others who have joined our school family this year. It’s been an incredible start, and we’re already feeling the sense of togetherness that makes our school such a special place. As we settle into the year, let’s continue to support one another with respect, stay determined through any challenges we face, and always lead with honesty in everything we do. These values are at the heart of our school, helping us grow not just as students, but as a close-knit community. Here’s to an amazing year ahead, filled with new friendships, shared successes, and unforgettable memories!

Year 7 students have settled into their new routine exceptionally well, adapting to the structure of secondary school with enthusiasm, resilience, and a commitment to our school values. They are confidently navigating the move between different classrooms, turning what can be a daunting change into a smooth and efficient part of their day. In lessons, students are demonstrating curiosity, collaboration, and a strong work ethic, engaging with their learning across all subjects with focus and determination. Lunchtimes have become a particular highlight, with the chicken zinger wraps proving especially popular! Overall, Year 7 are showing great adaptability, respect, and a positive approach to their new school environment, making a strong start to their secondary journey.

We’re thrilled to announce that our next school production is School of Rock! The show was officially launched on Tuesday, and excitement is already building across the Performing Arts department. We’ve had an incredible response so far, with nearly 100 students expressing interest in both on-stage and behind-the-scenes roles. It’s shaping up to be one of our biggest and most exciting productions yet! Rehearsals are now underway and take place every Tuesday from 3:15pm to 4:30pm. It’s not too late to get involved—just come along to rehearsals and join the fun!

We’ve also launched our extra-curricular activities programme, which has already proved popular with students. Timetables have been shared via Google Classroom, so make sure to check them out and get involved in something new this term.

Let’s make this production one to remember—School of Rock, here we come!

New Intake Open Evening – Thursday 25th September, 6:00pm–8:00pm

This evening is aimed at Year 6 students and, of course, their parents / carers. During the evening all guests will have the opportunity to hear from key members of staff. They will also be able to visit each of our Learning Areas. Opportunities to ask questions will be available throughout the evening so that we can provide you with any support required. The evening does tend to be a very busy occasion, so please do not leave until you’ve had all your questions answered!

Year 10 Parents’ Information Evening – Thursday 9th October, 5:00pm–6:00pm

We are pleased to invite all Year 10 parents to our Information Evening on Thursday 9th October, 5.00pm–6.00pm. We look forward to welcoming you and working together to ensure a successful year for your child.

As we move further into the term, we look forward to celebrating the achievements, creativity, and dedication of all our students—whether in lessons, extra-curricular activities, or school events.
