Celebrating the Successes of All
Castell Alun High School is celebrating another year of outstanding A Level results. Students are heading to top universities, exciting jobs, and adventures abroad.
This year, 30% of all grades were A*–A, and 80% fell within the A*–C range. These results reflect the hard work, determination, and ambition of both students and staff. Our inclusive Sixth Form continues to thrive, with growing interest from students across the region.
One student achieved an incredible five A* grades and now plans to travel the world before studying Politics, Philosophy and Economics at either Oxford or Cambridge. She also played a key role in painting beautiful murals around the school.
Over 90% of students who applied to university secured their first-choice place. Others have entered the world of work or apprenticeships.
Standout performances included:
2 A* and 2 A grades for one student, now off to study Computer Science at Lancaster.
1 A* and 2 A grades for another, who will study Mechanical Engineering at Sheffield.
4 A grades leading to a Veterinary Medicine course at Nottingham.
Another 4 A grades for a student pursuing Primary Teaching at Liverpool John Moores.
1 A* and 4 A grades earned a place at Edinburgh for Neuroscience.
4 A grades opened the door to Game Design at Leeds Beckett.
One student has secured an Electrical Engineering apprenticeship with Kellogg’s.
Miss Sarah Edwards, Assistant Headteacher and Director of Sixth Form, said:
“This year’s results reflect incredible effort and commitment. We’re proud of every student and wish them all the best.”
Mr Colin Ellis, Headteacher, added:
