Welcome to this week’s blog. It has been another busy and positive week at school, with students taking part in a wide range of opportunities both in and beyond the classroom. From preparing for international trips to representing the school with pride in competitive sport, there has been plenty to celebrate.

This week’s blog highlights the commitment, teamwork and enthusiasm shown by our students. In addition, it includes important information and upcoming events for families.

In preparation for their upcoming ski trip to Sestriere in Italy, a group of Year 10 students, alongside members of the Sixth Form, travelled to Manchester for a dedicated ski training session. The visit gave students the opportunity to take part in coached sessions led by experienced instructors.

As a result, students developed essential skills ahead of the trip. For some, this was their first experience of skiing, while others refined their technique and built confidence in a supportive environment.

Importantly, the session also helped students prepare mentally and physically for the challenges of skiing abroad. A huge thank you goes to Mr Gadie, Miss Jones and Mr Fowles for giving up their time to support students and ensure the session ran smoothly.

Llongyfarchiadau to all students who represented North East Wales Netball at the U14, U16 and U18 competitions in Cardiff. We are incredibly proud of their commitment, teamwork and determination throughout a highly competitive tournament.

Outstanding performances included Lottie and Erin, who finished as runners-up with the U14A squad, and Millie and Freya, who secured third place with the U14B squad. Meanwhile, Phoebe and Mollie achieved third place with the U16A team, while Freya and Evie finished fourth with the U16B squad.

In addition, congratulations go to Sophie, who represented the U18 team with skill and dedication. A special thank you goes to Mrs Rowlands and Mrs Ainsley, who coached the U14A squad and played a key role in the team’s success.

It was also a fantastic day of netball at the @chwaraeonurdd North Wales Netball Championships in Bangor. The yellow dresses reached the quarter-finals of the plate, while the star dresses progressed to the semi-final of the cup.

Both teams were narrowly defeated by a single goal in extra time, showing resilience and determination. Overall, this was an incredible achievement by all involved – da iawn bawb.

Each Friday, photographs of unclaimed items will be taken and shared on the school blog for parents, and on Google Classroom for students. Students should speak to their group tutors to arrange collection during registration or another suitable time.

At the end of each half term, any remaining unclaimed items will be donated to charity. Consequently, we hope this system will help students reunite with their belongings more quickly and easily.
