School Uniform
V-Neck Sweater: Students wear a black v-neck sweater with the embroidered school badge.
Shirt: Students wear a white, conventional-style shirt, buttoned up to the collar.
Trousers: Students wear plain black tailored trousers. They must not wear jeans, canvas, or skinny/tapered trousers.
Skirt: Girls wear a pleated plain black school skirt of appropriate length. They must not wear tube, skater, or pencil styles.
School Tie: The school tie is gold with a narrow black stripe for the lower school and black with a narrow gold stripe for the upper school. You can purchase ties from the school.
Socks/Tights: With trousers, students wear plain black socks. With skirts, they wear plain black opaque tights or black ankle socks.
Footwear: Students wear plain black, polishable, unbranded footwear. We do not allow trainers, shoes with sports branded logos, black pumps, or boots.
Outdoor Coat: Students must not wear denim and leather jackets or branded hoodie-style tops.
PE Kit
Sports Kit: This includes reversible rugby and soccer shirts in black and yellow with the school logo. T-shirts are available in black and yellow with the Castell Alun logo or plain black in round neck, straight, or fitted styles. Students wear black football-style socks, studded soccer or rugby boots, and sports trainers. They can wear black shorts for football or fitness leggings in black dri-fit material with no stripes or branding.
Optional Extra Kit: Students can wear sweatshirts in black with the Castell Alun logo or plain black with a round neck and no branding. Shorts come in black with yellow stripes and the Castell Alun logo or plain black without branding. Base layer tops are plain black and recommended for winter games lessons. Tracksuit bottoms should be plain black (no stripes or sports logos) or with the Castell Alun logo, exclusively from the school supplier.
Make-Up
Students in Years 9, 10, and 11 can wear natural, discreet make-up. However, they must not wear nail varnish, false eyelashes, or false/acrylic nails in school.
Jewellery
For safety during school activities, students can wear one ear stud per ear and up to two plain rings. Large sovereign-type rings are unsuitable. Watches are permitted, but bracelets, bangles, necklaces, and armbands are prohibited. Additionally, students must not wear body and facial jewellery such as nose, eyebrow, and tongue studs, as well as spacers.
Hair
To maintain safety, students must keep long hair under control. They should avoid extreme hairstyles and colors, including shaven heads and grade zero cuts. Only natural hair colors are acceptable.
