School Blog (16/06/23)

Welcome to the School Blog. As the public examination period nears its end, we congratulate our older students for their efforts, punctuality, and general approach during this challenging time. We are all grateful that only a few days remain until the exams are over!

Thank you for your support with the recent changes to the school uniform. Different approaches are evident across Flintshire schools. We regularly review our practices to respond to any changes in the weather for the rest of the term.

We have a new way to share information about your child’s school life. From Monday, 19th June, you can access our new parent app. The information may not be fully accurate for the current year when you first log on. However, we aim to test the app’s viability and fix any issues before the new academic year.

We will hold a CAFA Car Boot Sale on Saturday, 1st July, from 10 am to 12:30 pm. The event will include pre-loved uniform and textbook stalls, plus various other goods at low prices. To pre-book, email cafa@castellalun.com or pay on the day. Stallholders can set up from 9:30 am, with last admission at 9:55 am.

A large group of Year 10 students took part in a two-day Duke of Edinburgh expedition last weekend. Another expedition is planned for next weekend. Photos on Twitter show what a fantastic time everyone had. Participants are excited about their experience and the skills they continue to develop. Well done to everyone who took part, and a big diolch to Miss Katy Gittins, our Duke of Edinburgh Coordinator.

On Tuesday, 27th June, all parents and carers of Year 6 students joining us in September are invited to our New Intake Evening at 6:30 pm. We look forward to meeting you! On Thursday, 29th June, we hold our New Intake Induction Day for the students. This day always marks the beginning of new friendships.

See you back here soon for the next School Blog!
