The CAFA Events Page has been created to provide a clear, central place for families, staff and the wider school community to view upcoming CAFA events.
Rather than showing every CAFA-related post, the page is designed to focus only on future events, helping visitors quickly find what is coming up without having to scroll through older information. This keeps the page useful, current and easy to maintain.
Each event is managed through a normal WordPress post. To make an event appear on the page, the post needs to be tagged with CAFA and given an event date using the agreed custom field. The page then uses that date to decide whether the event should be shown. Once the event has passed, it drops out of the list automatically, keeping everything tidy without extra admin faff. Lovely when the website behaves itself for once.
The layout has been kept simple and accessible. Events are displayed in a centred format, with the featured image included where one has been set. Each event is separated by a horizontal line, making the page easier to scan, especially on mobile devices. Event titles are displayed in the Castell Alun gold colour #e4b429, with a slightly darker hover effect to show that the title is clickable.
This approach gives CAFA a flexible page that can be updated using existing WordPress tools, without needing a separate events plugin or manual editing of the page code each time. It also means posts can still appear elsewhere on the site if needed, while the CAFA Events Page remains focused specifically on upcoming events.
Overall, the page provides a clean, branded and low-maintenance way to promote CAFA activities and encourage the school community to get involved.
