Countdown to the End of the Academic Year
Welcome to the School Blog. With just five weeks remaining until the end of the academic year, there is still much to accomplish!
New Intake Evening and Day
On Tuesday, 25th June, we will hold our New Intake Evening for parents and carers of current Year 6 students. We are excited to meet you all! This will be followed by our New Intake Day on Thursday, 27th June, where we will welcome our new students. On this day, we will introduce them to life at Castell Alun, including our expectations and the opportunities available, both in lessons and extra-curricular activities.
‘Matilda’ Musical Production
Looking ahead, we are thrilled to announce our musical production of Matilda. Tickets will go on sale from Monday for performances on Wednesday, 10th July, and Thursday, 11th July. The shows will start at 7 pm, with doors opening at 6:30 pm. We are excited to showcase the talents of our lower school students.
Celebrating PE and Cheerleading Success
While PE activities sometimes take a back seat due to examination pressures, we are keen to celebrate our students’ successes. Recently, the Castell Alun Cheerleading Team excelled at the ‘Cheerfest’ competition at Deeside Leisure Centre, competing against other Flintshire schools. The team performed spectacularly, showcasing impressive aerial moves. Congratulations to every member of the squad for their teamwork and representing our school with pride. The chant “C-A-S-T-Y, we are the best no lie!” clearly demonstrated their enthusiasm and school spirit. Di iawn to all!
Athletics Achievements
Although we have not yet received the official results, we want to extend a great big di iawn to all students who competed in the athletics meeting (NEWAA round) against Wrexham schools this week. We observed numerous strong performances and eagerly await the final standings.
Support During Exams
With the examination period nearing its end, we can already see the relief on many students’ faces as they count down their papers. Remember, we are here to listen and support you during this stressful time. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any concerns.
See you back here soon for the next School Blog!
