School Blog (27/10/22)

Welcome to the School Blog. As we reach the end of an extremely long half term, we can report that all Year 7 students enjoyed their Talk the Talk workshops yesterday. The trainers were exceptionally complimentary about everyone who participated, praising their skills and attitude to learning.

Although school is closed to students tomorrow, several of our Year 13s depart on a trip to Berlin in the afternoon. The excitement is palpable, and the experience will doubtless be wonderful. We will give you further details upon their return in the next School Blog.

Although this School Blog is shorter than normal this week, we still want to say a big congratulations to Issy (Year 8) who competed in the Nottinghamshire Gymnastics Open 2022 and took 1st place in the vault and floor disciplines. Issy came 4th on the bars and very narrowly missed winning the overall competition. This is really impressive when you consider that she was competing against gymnasts from 14 clubs in England and Wales.

Really well done also to Paige (Year 9) who won 2 Golds and a Silver medal in the Morris Dancing Championships last weekend. Paige, we are so proud of you – you thoroughly deserved this success!

Over the half term holidays, it will be Halloween and Bonfire Night. Please remind all students of the need to stay safe and their responsibilities for keeping other people and pets around them safe. We will return to the theme of safety with our students next half term.

As already mentioned, school is closed to students tomorrow (Friday 28th October) and will reopen to them on Tuesday 8th November. We wish all our students, their families, and our staff a lovely week, and we hope everyone can have some time to relax with those closest to them.

Thank you for all of your support over this half term.
