Today in school we have all participated in Children in Need Day in a variety of different ways.  All students enjoyed the general knowledge quiz, which was run during registration time.

During periods 1 and 2, students in Year 7, 8 and 9 walked one mile around the school campus (the equivalent of the length of the UK in total!) for the cause, and there were all kinds of fun activities available to students in all year groups during break and lunch time.  Without doubt, one of the most popular events was the opportunity for students to sponge Mr. Ellis!

A number of teachers participated in the ‘beat the teacher’ sporting competitions at lunchtime and our Sixth Form have all decided to wear their pyjamas for the day.  Although we support a serious cause, which is no laughing matter, we have deliberately set the day up in school to be a fun occasion in order to raise valuable funds.

Please be so good as to donate as you are able through school gateway.

Diolch yn fawr to all parents and students who attended our Year 13 Parents’ Evening last night.  The event was very well supported and it was clear that everybody in attendance found the evening to be a useful touch point with teachers as our eldest students prepare for their trial examinations and then begin the last lap of the journey towards their external examinations.

Pip Lantos, our school Rugby Hub Development Officer, has been very busy over recent weeks.  In partnership with Mold RFU, she is constantly encouraging our youngsters to enjoy the challenges that rugby can offer, and has organised multiple events and competitions for both girls and boys around the local area.  To see the latest rugby developments please click here.

A brief reminder to Year 11 Parents/Carers please – we sent out a short questionnaire recently about your child’s experience in school and would be very grateful if you were able to complete this by the 23rd November please. Diolch.

CAFA will again sell Christmas trees and wreaths this year after the success of previous years.  If you would like further information, please take a look at the poster below.  You may place an order now using the information provided and all orders must be submitted by the 29th November, so that everything can be collected in good time from Yew Tree Bungalow, Wrexham Road on Saturday 2nd December between 11am and 1pm.

Ardderchog to India-Bo and Sasha (both Year 10) for their performances in the Welsh U15 girls’ football team against Norway and England recently.  These girls have both reached the pinnacle of many students’ aspiration, to represent their country on the international stage.

Also this week our Year 9 Boys’ football team put together a fantastic performance against really strong opponents and ended up victoriously but narrowly beating Rhyl High school 2-1.

Have a great weekend – cael penwythnos gwych
