Well done to Katie, Year 8, who recently joined forces with Bethan Dromgoole from Essential Skin Clinic in Broughton to arrange an Afternoon Tea in aid of We Are Macmillan. Katie raised over £670, a fantastic achievement.

On Wednesday this week we had a fantastic drumming workshop for Year 7 with Jeff Rich of Status Quo fame. The students were completely immersed in the hands on practical session. Thanks to Jeff for his time, and who knows, maybe some students were so inspired that they’ll beome the next generation of rock stars.

The following Sixth Form students were involved in the Lidl ‘Play More Football’ Coaching Workshop held at Hawarden High School this week – Alice, Enya, Tiarna, Kieren, Euan, Matt, Harvey, Oscar and Matthew.

The workshop involved an FAW football coordinator who provided our students with the correct approach to organising future football events in the school. The Sixth Form students will now serve as our board of directors for extra curricular football, and will meet with Mr Hutchinson to discuss new ways of delivering extra curricular sessions which cater for all students in the school.

Dare to Wear Pink Day 2016

Well done to our Year 9 football team who won their match at home against Connah’s Quay High School this week 1-0 in the Flintshire Schools tournament. They will now go through to third round. Good luck to our Year 8 team who play away against Flint in their third round match next week.

Maths GCSE exams took place today and on Wednesday this week for Year 11. Staff and students have all worked extremely hard and we all have our fingers crossed for good results.

Our Sixth Form students ‘Dared to wear Pink’ on the last day of half term to support the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign. The students really enjoyed the day and raised a considerable amount of money for this good cause.

Yesterday I called in at the Library at lunchtime. It was great to see so many students making use of the facilities. Mrs. Mitchell, our Librarian, is very pleased with how many students are choosing to spend their lunch breaks reading and as a treat for the last few minutes playing the occasional game.
