The exam season is now in full swing.

Well done to the students in years 10, 11, 12 and 13 for the studious way in which the exams have consistently been approached.

A huge well done to the 22 students from Years 8 and 9, together with Miss Roberts, Miss Davies and Miss McCarthy who returned from their netball sports trip to Barcelona last Friday.

During their stay in Barcelona they visited the Nou Camp Stadium, Las Ramblas and Port Aventura.  In the tournament they competed in over 11 rounds of netball going on to a tie breaker in the final round.  The girls strong teamwork was noted by the other teams.  Miss Roberts commented that it was an incredible trip that they will remember for a long time.

Castell Alun Friends Association are holding a Charity Race Night on Saturday 15th July at Penyffordd British Legion.  Tickets are £10 per person and includes a buffett.  Children are welcome if accompanied by an adult.  Please click here for more details!

Miss Janice Jones starts her transition visits to our local primary schools next week.  She will be taking a group of Year 7 students with her who I know will do a great job in representing Castell Alun.

Year 9 students enjoyed participating in a ‘Feeding Britain’s Future’ workshop today. They were fortunate to work closely with Caroline Hemming from the Silver Spoon Company, Charlene Jennings from Aldi and Sarah Hughes from Eat my Flowers.

The event was organised by IGD and Beth Goddard from Future First. The volunteers were inspiring our students to look at how they can transfer their education into skills for jobs and career paths.
