Friday 3rd February 2017

On Thursday our Year 11 and 12 BTEC dance students performed a showcase of some of their work from the musical  ‘Chicago’ for their friends and families .  This event formed part of their exam and all students contributed and performed to a very high standard,  with feedback from all in attendance being most positive.  Dance teacher, Mrs. Sharon Nesbitt, was very proud and impressed with the standard of their work.   Well done to Ellie Barnes, Catia Bartolomeu, Elan Coleman, Shannon Davies, Yasmin Howells, Bobbi Leary, Betsan Lloyd, Cerys Lyons, Jude Prytherch, Tegan Salisbury, Anna Seddon, Sophie Vaughan, Courtney Williams and Kaitlyn Williams from Year 11 and Amy Roberts, Anna Jones, Emily Dodd, Elle Jones Dodd, Manon Edwards, Shawni Hooson, Holly Rawlins and Brianna Harston from Year 12.
We held a highly successful Sixth Form Open Evening on Wednesday, with many students and parents in attendance both from Castell Alun and indeed a large number of other schools .  Thanks to all the staff, students and parents who made this such a wonderful evening.  Mr. Kevin Davies, Director of Sixth Form can be contacted at school or emailed – kevin.davies@castellalun.flintshire.sch.uk for any queries on how to apply to join our Sixth Form.

Anya Davies, Year 10 and Abby Davies, Year 12, have been selected to participate as young people’s representatives on the WCBC interview panel.  This panel will be sitting to select organisations to be awarded contracts for the delivery of services for children and young people in the Wrexham area.   The girls have been selected due to their valuable contributions to youth work projects and Peer Education and Senedd initiatives.  We are very proud of both girls and sure they will be most useful assets to this panel.

Just a reminder that the Castell Alun Friends Association (CAFA) annual general meeting will take place on 28th February at 6.15pm.  Everyone is welcome to come along and hear about the fantastic fund raising that has taken place over the last year.  The CAFA Webpage can be found here.
